NSW-born Anya, who won The Voice Australia in 2014, beat out nine other Danish finalists to earn her shot at representing Denmark at Eurovision 2017, which takes place in Kiev, Ukraine.

Obviously this unforgivable act of treachery hasn’t gone unnoticed, and as such, online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au have created a market pitting the Aussies against the Danes.

Australia is currently $1.25 to enjoy a higher Eurovision finish then Denmark ($3.25), even though Australia hasn’t nominated a singer yet.

Former X Factor contestant Nathaniel Willemse is the $5.00 favourite be christened with the honour, while Alfie Arcuri ($6.00), Delta Goodrem ($7.00), Cyrus Villanueva ($7.50) and Jessica Mauboy ($8.00) aren’t far behind.

Italy are the big $3.00 favourites to emerge triumphant at Eurovision this year, ahead of Sweden at $5.00 and the Russians at $8.00. Australia are fourth favourites ($11), while Denmark and Anja are languishing down the pack at $34.

Sportsbet also has Australia selecting any Voice contestant as its representative at odds of $3.00, with the X Factor at $4.00.

“Dami Im showed just how good our former reality show singers are on the world stage so it wouldn’t surprise if the producers went back to that well to pick this year’s representative,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
