Waleed Aly remains the strong favourite to win the Gold Logie for the second year running, but Samuel Johnson has been heavily backed to cause an upset.
Johnson has been the subject of a campaign to get him the Gold Logie, and he has been backed into $11 from $41 following his AACTA win.
The actor Johnson, who played Molly Meldrum in Network Seven's show Molly, is now on the fifth line of betting along with another former winner Carrie Bickmore.
Aly remains the $2.25 favourite with bookmaker Sportsbet
to repeat his win this year and has received the most punter support to date.
Karl Stefanovic has also made inroads in the past few weeks, moving up in the betting from $6.00 into $3.00 second favourite.
Asher Keddie and Jessica Marais are both $7.50 to win the Gold Logie.
"Samuel may say he doesn’t want the Gold Logie but that call is falling on deaf ears with our punters as they can’t get enough of the Molly star," said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
