The Open Championship heads to Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland for the 148th edition of the famous major and we take a look at the value bets.

Home favourite Rory McIlroy heads the betting from fellow four-time major winner Brooks Koepka as they bid to lift the Claret Jug.

Both could well be in the mix come the business end at the Dunluce Course and we recommended having three players on your side.

Brooks Koepka

Koepka has never finished better than sixth in the Open Championship, but at his price the American looks a great each-way bet as a relatively risk-free punt. Koepka has won four of his last nine major appearances, won the USPGA Championship in May and finished runner-up in this year's other two majors the Masters and US Open. He turns up on the big weekends and you should get at least your money back for him to end in the places.

Henrik Stenson

Stenson knows how to win an Open having won his only major to date in 2016 at Royal Troon. He undoubtedly has the game to add another major and if he gets the rub on the green can feature heavily at Portrush. He warmed up with a tied fourth in the Scottish Open, while followed a break following eighth in the US Open. The big Swede is an attractive price.

Andy Sullivan

Sullivan has never finished better than 12th in a major, that coming in the same 2016 Open that was won by Stenson. But the Englishman is a man in good form heading to Portrush. He was runner-up in the Irish Open, which should be a good guide to this week, and 28th in the Scottish Open last week. He has missed just one cut in his last 10 events and there are worse triple-figure-priced contenders to be on.
