Penrith Panthers and the Wests Tigers

Penrith Panthers can draw level with St George Illawarra Dragons at the top of the ladder if they see off the Wests Tigers in the opening game of Round 11 at Panthers Stadium on Thursday night.

Panthers v Wests kicks off at 7.50pm AEST at Panthers Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and Channel 9 in Australia.

Prediction

Match Preview

Penrith Panthers welcome back former coach Ivan Cleary and his Wests Tigers side to Panthers Stadium on Thursday night in a battle between second and seventh on the NRL ladder.

The Panthers can go level with the Dragons at the top if claiming the win, while Wests are bidding to enhance their top-four credentials in an intriguing game to kick off the Round 11 action.

Both sides are coming off Round 10 wins after Penrith bounced back from a defeat with a hard-fought success at the Newcastle Knights and Wests ended a three-game losing streak when defeating North Queensland Cowboys.

It all sets things up nicely for the Thursday night footy, particularly with Nathan Cleary returning for the Panthers as he goes head-to-head with his father's side.

Panthers have a great record at their home track having won eight of the last nine at Panthers Stadium, and have also won the last three meetings with the Tigers too and five of the last six. That makes them a great betting proposition to move to 8-3 for the season.

Match Odds

Penrith Panthers - $1.60
Wests Tigers - $2.40
