Prediction

Preview and Tips

Western Sydney Wanderers and FC Seoul go into their Matchday 3 clash knowing victory in the Group F is critical to their hopes of progressing.

Despite there being on two games played, successive defeats for both sides leave this fixture as crucial for both.

Western Sydney were beaten 4-0 by Urawa Red Diamonds at home in the group opener before suffering an equally heavy defeat at the hands of Shanghai SIPG as they lose 5-1 in China.

FC Seoul also lost to the same two teams, going down 1-0 at home to Shanghai SIPG and then suffered a 5-2 defeat in Japan to Urawa Red Diamonds.

FC Seoul have started the new K-League season unbeaten in the opening two games following a draw an a win and they can make home advantage count against the Wanderers.

Western Sydney have won just one of their last six game in all competitions - admittedly a win which ended rivals Sydney FC's long unbeaten run - and have failed to score in four of those fixtures.

It could be a tough night for the Wanderers and one which leaves their Champions League hopes hanging by the thinnest of threads.

Stats

  • Both sides have failed to collect a point in the tournament so far
  • Western Sydney Wanderers have just one win in their last six games
  • FC Seoul have started the K-League season unbeaten after two games
