Newcastle Jets v Brisbane Roar Prediction

Newcastle Jets v Brisbane Roar Preview and Tips

Brisbane Roar suffered a blow to their hopes of a top four finish and an all-important home Elimination Final when they were beaten at home by Wellington Phoenix last weekend.

Now John Aloisi's Brisbane team must overcome one of their bogey sides in the shape of the Jets if they are to keep the heat on the top four.

They must put the midweek defeat in AFC Champions League behind them having gone down 6-0 to Ulsan Hyundai in South Korea.

But Newcastle have proven to be stubborn opponents for the Roar down the years including winning the previous two meetings this season with a 4-0 victory in Newcastle and a 3-2 success at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

Roar will hope that history doesn't repeat itself, but they have won just one of the last five games against the Jets and the gruelling recent schedule only adds to Brisbane's problems as they travel interstate once again.

Newcastle have seen their own hopes of making the final dashed somewhat with the Jets winless in their last four games, a run which has seen them pick up just two points.

Will the chance to complete a clean sweep against Brisbane spark Mark Jones' side back to life?

Newcastle Jets v Brisbane Roar Stats

  • Newcastle Jets have won both games against Brisbane Roar this season
  • The Jets, however, are winless in their last four games
  • Brisbane Roar are playing their 11th game in 43 days
