Western Sydney Wanderers v Adelaide United Preview and Tips

Much has happened for last year's Grand Finalists since they clashed in the championship decider last May.

Western Sydney Wanderers came back to earth last week when unable to follow up their victory over Sydney FC in the derby when they went down to Perth Glory in the west.

But the sixth-placed Wanderers have an ideal chance to get their finals aspirations back on track when they host bottom side Adelaide United at Spotless Stadium on Saturday night.

The Reds also lost last Saturday as they slipped to a 13th defeat of the campaign when they went down 2-1 at Melbourne Victory.

The loss leaves Adelaide 10 points adrift of sixth-placed Wanderers and needing to win to realistically keep alive any slim hopes of making the finals and keep their title defence alive.

It seems an eternity since these two sides last met when Western Sydney ran out 2-1 winners in Adelaide in Round 2, and an anomily of the A-League fixtures calendar means they play twice in the last six weeks of the regular season.

After Saturday's meeting, the Reds will host the Wanderers at Coopers Stadium on the final weekend of the regular season when finals fates are likely to have been sealed one way or the other.

Western Sydney Wanderers v Adelaide United Stats
