World Cup Group G Preview and Predictions - Essential guide to Group G

Gary Emmerson 5 Jun 2018
  • Belgium and England are expected to dominate
  • Tunisia and Panama outsiders in the group
Harry Kane of England

Belgium and England should dominate Group G at the World Cup Finals, but can Tunisia and Panama cause a huge upset and progress to the knockout stages?

It was a favourable draw for European rivals Belgium and England, who should both emerge from the group with little trouble having come out of the pot along with two of the minnows.

Belgium are top seeds having dropped just two points when qualifying as Group H winners in European qualification. England, meanwhile, dropped just four points en route to topping Group F.

Tunisia booked their spot at the final courtesy of being winners of Group A of African qualification but things are about to get a lot tougher for them in Russia.

Panama were the recipients of some fortune as they qualified in third spot in CONCACAF with a "ghost goal" which didn't cross the line earning a 2-1 win over Costa Rica and their seat on the plane to the finals.

Group Winner: Belgium $1.75, England $2.10, Tunisia $23, Panama $41
