Essendon Bombers vs Melbourne Demons
- Saturday September 19 | Metricon Stadium | 2.10pm AEST
Huge chance for the Demons to qualify for the finals after edging GWS last week, but as is the case with GWS, they need other results to go their way.
Adelaide Crows vs Richmond Tigers
- Saturday September 19 | Adelaide Oval | 5.10pm AEST
Adelaide have gone on a three-match winning streak out of absolutely nowhere and somehow avoid the wooden spoon by winning this, but it’s unlikely against a Richmond team who will be aiming to lock down a top four spot.
Brisbane Lions vs Carlton Blues

Brisbane still in with a chance at the minor premiership, but they will need either Port Adelaide to lose or overcome their points differential – which they are a great chance of achieving against Carlton.
Hawthorn Hawks vs Gold Coast Suns
- Sunday September 20 | Adelaide Oval | 1.05pm AEST
The only ‘dead rubber’ game of the round. Both teams hoping to finish off a disappointing season with a victory.
Sydney Swans vs Geelong Cats
- Sunday September 20 | Metricon Stadium | 3.35pm AEST
Geelong tasked with a must-win game here in order to ensure a top four spot – and they should prevail against a Sydney side who were never in finals contention all season.
Fremantle Dockers vs Western Bulldogs
- Sunday September 20 | Cazaly’s Stadium | 6.10pm AEST
Western Bulldogs have their finals destiny in their own hands and will either have secured a spot by kick off, or know they need to win in order to finish in the top eight.
Collingwood Magpies vs Port Adelaide
- Monday September 21 | Gabba | 7.15pm AEST
Port Adelaide will likely have to win in order to claim the minor premiership, while Collingwood – at the time of writing – still need to play the Gold Coast and may have wrapped up a finals spot by the time this game comes around.
