Brisbane vs Carlton Preview and Prediction

Brisbane cruised past the Swans despite a late scare. Whilst, Carlton ended their finals hopes with a disappointing defeat to the Crows.

The Lions saw themselves two points up early in the last quarter, but their efficiency in the forward half dragged them over the line in a comfortable 32-point victory.

The Lions will be deliberate with their approach inside 50 this week, due to Carltonโ€™s strong aerial ability.

Chris Fagan knows the importance of winning games at home, particularly this season, and with his side entering the finals in a top-two spot having not lost any games at home this season, heโ€™ll be more optimistic than ever.

Daniel Rich was superb against the Swans, finishing the match 23 disposals going at 82.6% efficiency and five intercepts.

Unlike last week, Carlton couldnโ€™t from behind at half-time to beat the Crows, eventually losing the match by 16 points.

The Blues made too many poor unforced turnovers in the first half which lead to easy scoring opportunities for the Crows who were excellent by foot moving the ball into the forward 50.

If David Teagueโ€™s side is to get the four points against Brisbane, they must perform better in the midfield, only two players have won over 20 centre clearances this season and coming up against a lethal Brisbane midfield, itโ€™s where the game will be won.

As the Blues head into next season, they will be aiming for a finalโ€™s appearance, their first since 2013.

Will Setterfield was the best for the Blues, finishing the match with 16 disposals, nine tackles, four clearances and a goal.

Both sides will look to finish the home and away season with a triumph, but I believe the Lions will win this match comfortably.

Brisbane vs Carlton Team News

Brisbane will most likely be bolstered by two inclusions against the Blues, with Brandon Starcevich and Lincoln McCarthy likely inclusions.

The Blues will be without Sam Docherty and Zac Fisher for their final game of the season; however, Jack Martin is likely to feature.

The two sides last met last season which saw Carlton defeat the Lions by 15 points.
