Melbourne youngster Luke Jackson is the favourite to take out the 2021 AFL Rising Star award in his second season at the Demons. He has solidified his spot in the Demons forward/ruck stocks. He is going to be an influential member of the optimistic Demons finals campaign.
Lachlan Scholl had a terrific start to the season being an early front-runner but has dropped after some average performances. Tom Green dropped in the rising star rankings in his first season at the Giants. Whilst Melbourne’s James Jordon has climbed up the stakes in a strong back-end of the season.
Essendon’s Nik Cox has been one of the best draftee’s of the year so far at 202cm, playing on the wing. He has dropped in the predictions, after struggling to see out the year strong. The 19-year-old received his nomination against the Tigers in Round 12.
The rest of the young Bomber’s brigade had good seasons, with Harrison Jones dropping in the rankings after his foot injury and Archie Perkins finished the year off strong. Early favourite Errol Gulden has declined recently and struggled to find the form he found earlier in the year.
Port Adelaide’s Mitch Georgiades and Sydney’s Justin McInerney are also quietly in good positions to cause an upset come Rising Star night.
