Adelaide’s chances of playing in the finals were ended in Round 23 after they went down to Sydney by a solitary point. The Crows were cruelly denied after Ben Keays’ shot late in the game was deemed to be a behind with replays clearly showing the shot had sailed through.

On the same weekend, the West Coast Eagles pulled off one of the upsets of the season, defeating the Western Bulldogs by seven points. That came on the back of five goals from Jamie Cripps, while Oscar Allen chimed in with three. Tim Kelly continued his excellent season with 32 disposals.

The win saw West Coast climb up from bottom spot on the ladder. But it hasn’t been smooth sailing for the Perth based side at all this season with just three wins, while they have lost five matches by more than 100 points.
