There are numerous markets when it comes to betting on MLB and baseball games. Here are some of the popular ways to bet on baseball.

Money Line

The Money Line, also known as head to head betting is the easiest market available on MLB. You are backing the team that you think will win the game. The favourite will always be odds on, and the underdog can also be odds on if it is a close game, otherwise they will be better than $2.00 odds.

Run Line

This is spread betting in other sports. In MLB and baseball, the run line is generally set at 1.5 runs. The favoured team will be -1.5 runs which means they need to win by two or more runs in a game to win. The underdog will be +1.5 runs which means a one run loss in a game will still be a win for bettors who backed them +1.5 at the run line.

Total Runs

Betting on how many runs will be scored in a game is a popular bet type. Total runs will generally be between 6.5 and 9.5 runs. Assuming it is set at 7.5, there will be two options; Over 7.5 and Under 7.5. In order to win the Over 7.5, you will need eight or more runs to be scored in the game.
