Bet Of The Day September 3

The NRL Round 27 match between the Cronulla Sharks and Canberra Raiders features as Bettingpro.com.au’s best bet for Sunday September 3.

Bet Of The Day September 3 – read on below for our reasoning behind today’s best bet.

Key Points

  • Sharks have won three of their last four games
  • Raiders have lost four of their last six games
  • Raiders have lost their last five games vs top eight teams
  • Raiders last beat a team above them on the ladder in April
  • Sharks’ last seven wins have been by 10+ points
  • Seven of Raiders’ last eight defeats have been by 10+ points

We’re off to the NRL for today’s best bet as the Sharks and Raiders square off for the right to secure a home elimination final next week.

Both teams have locked down their finals spot for next week, but the winner of this clash will have the benefit of playing at home.

We’re confident the Sharks get the job done and do it comfortably at that. The Raiders really don’t deserve to be in the top eight with how they’ve performed for most of the season, but they were able to grind out multiple scrappy wins and that’s been enough in the end.

However, the Raiders have struggled when coming up against superior sides, losing their last five games against teams currently above them on the ladder, with their last top eight scalp coming in early April.

Cronulla have rounded back into form with three wins from their last four and have Nicho Hynes back for this encounter.

Cronulla’s last seven wins have been by 10+ points, so they are a great chance at covering the line here. If they win, the Sharks usually do it with room to spare.

Canberra have also suffered some big defeats lately – when they don’t win themselves, the Green Machine are usually blown off the park, with some of their most recent losses being scores of 29-18, 48-2, 28-6, 36-14, 42-14, 53-12 & 24-14.

The Raiders are also missing key forwards Josh Papalii and Corey Horsburgh to injury and suspension.

Playing at PointsBet Stadium with a home final on the line, the Sharks should be able to cover a -10.5 line and take momentum into the finals next week.
