Bet Of The Day August 4

Andrew Hendrie:
Bet Of The Day August 4

The NRL Round 21 match between the Sydney Roosters and Brisbane Broncos features as’s best bet for Thursday August 4.

Bet Of The Day August 4 – read on below for our reasoning behind today’s best bet.

Key Points

  • Roosters have won four of the last five meetings between the teams
  • Roosters have won their last three games
  • Broncos are coming off a loss to the last-placed Tigers
  • Roosters’ last seven wins have covered the -5.5 line
  • Broncos’ last four losses have failed to cover the +4.5 line

We’re off to the NRL for today’s best bet as the Roosters look to continue their recent winning run of form when they play host to the Broncos.

It’s a big game for both teams – the Roosters are targeting their fourth win on the trot and can come to within two points of the Broncos on the ladder, giving themselves a chance of sneaking into the top four if they continue on their current form.

Meanwhile, the Broncos are on the back foot after suffering a shock loss at home to the bottom-placed Tigers last week.

All of a sudden, the Broncos are now out of the top four and if they lose again this week, they will battling to survive in the bottom half of the eight.

The Roosters have been largely dominant in their last three victories, putting 54 points on the Dragons and 42 on the Knights before holding off Manly 20-10 last week.

Trent Robinson’s side made a massive 18 errors in that win over a depleted Manly side and he will demand improvement in what is shaping as his team’s most significant clash of the season.

It does seem like the Roosters are finally starting to click though – Luke Keary is back from concussion issues and beginning to gel with young Sam Walker, while the likes of Joey Manu and Joseph Suaalii are amongst the most dangerous outside backs in the game.

Brisbane also suffered a huge blow last week, with inspirational forward Pat Carrigan suspended for the next month for his dangerous tackle on Jackson Hastings.

The Roosters beat the Broncos up at Suncorp earlier in the season and have won four of the last five meetings overall. With Carrigan out and on the back of a three-game winning run, the Roosters should be able to carve out a victory at the SCG.
