Bet Of The Day August 4

Andrew Hendrie:
Bet Of The Day August 4

The NRL Round 23 match between the Gold Coast Titans and New Zealand Warriors features as Bettingpro.com.au’s best bet for Friday August 4.

Bet Of The Day August 4 – read on below for our reasoning behind today’s best bet.

Key Points

  • Titans have won four of their last five games vs Warriors
  • Warriors haven’t won four straight games all season
  • Titans have covered a +8.5 line in six of their last seven games
  • Titans coming off brilliant 22-13 win over in-form Cowboys in their last outing
  • Warriors barely held on for a one-point win at home over Raiders in their last outing

We’re off to the NRL for today’s best bet as the Titans look to keep their faint finals hopes alive when they play host to the Warriors at Cbus Super Stadium.

The Warriors might be flying high in the top four, but I’m haven’t been entirely convinced by them this season and think they are far too short in the market, with the Titans offering great value at $3.10.

However, we’re going to play it safer and back the Titans with a +8.5 line at $1.90.

As mentioned, the Warriors are finals-bound, but since May, they’ve only beaten the Bulldogs, Dragons, Eels (without their Origin players), the slumping Sharks (who have conceded 100+ points in their last three games) and the Raiders twice (a team that hasn’t defeated any side 13+ all season).

The point is that the Warriors look to have had a soft run as of late, so if the Titans can produce the same sort of effort they did last week, they can make a real contest out of this.

The Titans managed to keep the rampant Cowboys’ attack scoreless in the second-half, prevailing 22-13 in easily their best performance of the season.

Win this clash and the Titans could potentially be just two points outside the top eight (but with a poor points differential, it’s more like four).

Gold Coast have an excellent recent record against the Warriors, winning four of the last five meetings between the teams, so they shouldn’t be overawed – especially at home.

It should also be noted that the Warriors haven’t won four games in a row all season and the Titans have covered a +8.5 line in six of their last seven games.

Again, if the Titans play like they did last week, they can win this game, let alone cover a +8.5 line.
