We’re off to the NRL for today’s best bet as the Sharks look to put another big score on the embattled Tigers at CommBank Stadium.

The Tigers are a complete mess and have been for a long time, but last week the joint-venture club hit a new low, suffering a crushing 74-0 loss to the Cowboys.

It was the biggest loss of the NRL era and the largest margin of defeat since 1935.

Unfortunately, while it may not reach those levels, I can’t see the Tigers showcasing much improvement here.

Cronulla are one of the best teams in the competition and have a knack for beating up the weaker sides. Indeed, the Sharks’ last two games have seen them defeat the Bulldogs 48-10 and Dragons 52-16.

With this in mind, we’ll be backing the Sharks to cover the -21.5 line.

Cronulla’s last three wins over the Tigers have seen scores of 36-12, 30-4 and 50-20.

The Tigers obviously are struggling in defence, but their attack is almost non-existent without Luke Brooks and Api Koroisau. Unlikely they’ll be able to contribute much to the total here.

Cronulla are unaffected by Origin and coming off two huge victories against the Dragons and Bulldogs – they should be set for another dominant performance against another of the competition’s cellar dwellers.
