Been fading Teichmann all season long with great success so going to continue here by backing Wang at a relatively small -3.5 games handicap.

Teichmann was ranked in the top 30 as recently as May this year, but her terrible run of form has resulted in her tumbling all the way down to a current mark of No. 138.

The Swiss has only won eight tour-level matches all season, with just three coming in the last six months.

It’s only getting worse too – Teichmann lost in the first round of US Open qualifying to 17-year-old Petra Marcinko 6-3 6-1 and followed that up with a 6-2 6-3 defeat to World No. 226 Eudice Wong Chong at the W100 event in Tokyo last week.

By contrast, Wang is having the best season of her career, surging up the rankings to No. 39 in the world.

Wang put together a fantastic American summer, winning the title at W100 Landisville, reaching the WTA Cleveland quarter-finals and making the fourth round of the US Open, where she ended up taking a set off eventual semi-finalist Karolina Muchova.

Wang is simply in far superior form, winning 12 of her last 14 matches coming into this clash, losing only to Muchova and Ekaterina Alexandrova – if she maintains her current level, the Chinese player should prove far too strong for a slumping Teichmann.
