The ATP Miami Round 1 match between Taro Daniel and Arthur Rinderknech features as Bettingpro.com.au’s best bet for Wednesday March 22.
Bet Of The Day March 22 – read on below for our reasoning behind today’s best bet.
Key Points
- Daniel has won eight of his last 10 matches
- Daniel has beaten Ruud & Berrettini during this run
- It’s taken top 20 players (Norrie & De Minaur) to beat Daniel over the last month
- Rinderknech has lost eight of his last 12 matches at all levels
- Rinderknech has won just two tour-level matches all year (last win on February 8)
- Rinderknech has just one top 100 win since October 27 last year
We’re off to ATP Miami for today’s best bet as Taro Daniel and Arthur Rinderknech square off for a place in the second round.
Rinderknech is the higher-ranked player of the pair at No. 72, but the Frenchman has been struggling for a while now on tour and comes into this clash having lost eight of his last 12 matches at all levels.
Having lost confidence, Rinderknech has dropped down to Challenger level in an attempt to win some matches, but that hasn’t really worked out for him either.
Rinderknech has just two tour-level wins for the season so far and is coming off a straight sets defeat to Jiri Lehecka at Indian Wells last week.
With all this in mind, we’re keen to back Daniel to win and cover the small -2.5 games line.
Daniel has been playing some of the best tennis of his career over the last couple of months and heads into this encounter with eight wins from his last 10 matches.
The Japanese player made the quarter-finals of Acapulco, taking the scalp of World No. 4 Casper Ruud, while he also eliminated Matteo Berrettini on his way to the third round of Indian Wells.
It took an extremely in-form Cameron Norrie to beat Daniel at Indian Wells and that was in a tough three-set battle.
Daniel is in far superior form and if he maintains this level, he should be advancing to the second round in Miami.
