Bet Of The Day July 28

Andrew Hendrie:
Bet Of The Day July 28

The NRL Round 20 match between the Manly Sea Eagles and Sydney Roosters features as’s best bet for Thursday July 28.

Bet Of The Day July 28 – read on below for our reasoning behind today’s best bet.

Key Points

  • Roosters have won five of the last seven meetings between the teams
  • Sea Eagles are missing seven players for this game
  • Roosters beat Sea Eagles 26-12 earlier in the season
  • Roosters have won their last two games
  • Roosters scored 54 & 42 points in those victories
  • Roosters have covered the -8.5 line in four of their last five wins
  • Sea Eagles have failed to cover the +8.5 line in seven of their last nine defeats
  • Joseph Suaalii has scored 12 tries in 13 games this season
  • Joseph Suaalii has scored at least one try in five of his last six games
  • Joseph Suaalii has scored at least one try in his last five games with the Roosters as favourite

We’re off to the NRL for today’s best bet as the Roosters look to take advantage of a heavily depleted Sea Eagles side.

It’s been one of the most controversial build-ups to a game in recent memory, with seven Manly players – Jason Saab, Christian Tuipulotu, Tolutau Koula, Josh Aloiai, Haumole Olakau’atu, Toafofoa Sipley and Josh Schuster – standing themselves down due to personal beliefs.

It’s a call that has the potential to completely derail Manly’s season and cause a rift amongst the playing group.

Manly are currently in ninth spot on the ladder and one of four teams on 18 points coming into this round as the race for a finals spot heats up.

One of those other teams is the Roosters, who must be licking their lips for this golden opportunity to put one of their finals rivals to the sword.

The Roosters have been hit hard by injuries once again in 2022, but their are signs they are starting to regain their mojo, heading into this encounter on the back of huge wins over the Dragons and Knights.

Trent Robinson’s side put 54 points on the Dragons and 42 on the Knights over the last fortnight and they are expected to hit a similar – if not bigger – target against the Sea Eagles.

Joseph Suaalii has been arguably the form winger in the competition over the last couple of months and his combination with Joey Manu will be deadly down the right edge against an inexperienced Sea Eagles side.

Suaalii has scored 12 tries from 13 games this season and crossed for at least one try in five of his last six games. In two of those games, he scored a double.

It seems inevitable that Suaalii will continue his magnificent try-scoring form here, while the Roosters should be able to win by at least nine points, a line they’ve covered in four of their last five victories.
