Bet Of The Day May 5

The NRL Round 9 match between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Brisbane Broncos features as Bettingpro.com.au’s best bet for Thursday May 5.

Bet Of The Day May 5 – read on below for our reasoning behind today’s best bet.

Key Points

  • Souths have won 25 of their last 27 games when favourites
  • Souths have won three of their last four games
  • Souths have won their last five games at Accor Stadium by 12 points or more
  • Souths’ last three wins over Broncos have been by 18 points or more
  • Souths are averaging 32 points per win this season
  • Broncos have lost 18 of their last 20 games away from Suncorp
  • Broncos haven’t won three games in a row since 2019

We’re off to the NRL for today’s best bet as the Rabbitohs look to continue their brilliant record as pre-match favourites when they host the Broncos.

When South Sydney are favourites, they almost always emerge triumphant – indeed, the Bunnies have won 25 of their last 27 games when favourites with the bookies.

After the Broncos stunned Souths back in Round 1 at Suncorp, the Rabbitohs will be determined to avenge that loss and make a statement tonight.

All signs point to them doing just that.

Brisbane may be coming off wins over the Bulldogs and Sharks, but both of those victories came at Suncorp.

Away form has been disastrous for the Broncos lately, with the team losing 18 of their last 20 games away from Suncorp, while they also haven’t been able to string three wins in a row together since 2019.

Admittedly, the Rabbitohs haven’t been great so far this season, but they had a tough draw near the beginning of the campaign and come into this clash having won three of their last four games.

Souths have a great recent record at Accor Stadium and have won their last five games at the venue by 12+ points.

Additionally, the Rabbitohs’ last three wins over Brisbane have been by 18 points or more, so if they are to prevail, recent history suggests they will do it comfortably.

The Bunnies are also averaging 32 points per win this season, so they have no trouble piling on the point. Get that defence right and Souths will be looking a premiership force again.

The Rabbitohs have been strong at Accor Stadium recently, and coupled with Brisbane’s poor away form, we’re confident they can cover the -12 line for a fourth straight time when beating the Broncos.
