This is an important match for both players, with Auger-Aliassime and Sonego struggling for their best tennis as of late.

However, we’re backing Auger-Aliassime to advance here. The Canadian registered a very impressive 6-2 6-3 victory in his opening round over Luca Nardi, who just beat Novak Djokovic in Indian Wells.

Listening to Auger-Aliassime speak after the match, he finally sounds confident and injury-free. He’s also playing without the pressure of defending basically any points throughout this clay season.

Auger-Aliassime is a former top 10 player and is simply too good and talented to be down for much longer and this represents a great opportunity to start trending upward again.
