It’s been a terrible season for Schwartzman, with the Argentine falling out of the top 100 and failing to reach an ATP quarter-final since July 2022.

However, Schwartzman’s fortunes have changed in Shanghai and he’s won three matches out of nowhere to surge into the R16.

One of those victories was over Taylor Fritz, which was Schwartzman’s first top 10 scalp in 11 matches. He also claimed another impressive win over Jiri Lehecka.

Schwartzman is a former top 10 player himself and it was only a matter of time before he figured everything out and began his climb back up the rankings. Looks like he’s starting his surge in Shanghai.

Schwartzman is great odds at $3.00 to pull off the upset here, especially when you consider his dominant H2H record over Jarry.

Indeed, Schwartzman has won four of the five previous meetings between the pair – and even though he lost their only clash in 2023, he still managed to take a set and that’s when he was playing horribly.
