Bet Of The Day May 19

The NRL Round 11 match between the Newcastle Knights and Brisbane Broncos features as’s best bet for Thursday May 19.

Bet Of The Day May 19 – read on below for our reasoning behind today’s best bet.

We’re off to the NRL for today’s best bet as the Broncos look to continue their sensational run of form when they come up against the struggling Knights.

Brisbane have been on fire over the last month and come into this clash on the back of a four-game winning streak, including toppling the more-fancied Rabbitohs and Sharks before absolutely thumping Manly 38-0 last week in Magic Round.

Adam Reynolds has completely changed the team, with the veteran halfback providing leadership to his young team, along with his outstanding kicking game, which is giving the Broncos an advantage in the field position battles.

Throw in electric outside backs in Selwyn Cobbo, Kotoni Staggs and Herbie Farnworth, along with a forward pack led by Payne Haas and Kurt Capewell, and you have a team that is suddenly a genuine top eight chance this season.

Meanwhile, the Knights have been abysmal since starting the season with victories over the Roosters and Tigers.

Newcastle proceeded to lose their next seven consecutive matches and weren’t convincing at all in a 16-6 win over fellow battlers the Bulldogs last week in what was arguably the worst game of the season.

Attack is a major issue for the Knights, with the team averaging just 12 points per game. Anthony Milford is set to play his first game for the club since departing the Broncos last season, but he’s not a leader or creative player.

As a result, we’re backing the Broncos to make it five wins on the bounce and to add a bit more value, we’re picking them to cover the -5.5 line, which they’ve done in all six of their wins this season.

Key Points

  • Broncos have won their last four games
  • Knights have lost seven of their last eight games
  • Broncos have covered the -5.5 line in all six of their victories this season
  • Knights have lost by six points or more in six of their seven defeats this season
  • Knights are averaging just 12 points per game this season
