Bet Of The Day June 23

Andrew Hendrie:
Bet Of The Day June 23

The ATP Eastbourne quarter-final between Alex de Minaur and Tommy Paul features as’s best bet for Thursday June 23.

Bet Of The Day June 23 – read on below for our reasoning behind today’s best bet.

Key Points

  • De Minaur has won both previous meetings between the pair in 2022
  • De Minaur beat Paul with over 22.5 games in their last clash in Rome
  • De Minaur has won his last six matches in Eastbourne
  • Paul has lost eight of his last 13 matches
  • Paul has lost four of his last five quarter-finals
  • Paul has seen over 22.5 games in six of his last eight matches

We’re off to ATP Eastbourne for today’s best bet as Alex de Minaur and Tommy Paul clash for a place in the semi-finals.

De Minaur is the defending champion in Eastbourne and has made the perfect start to defend his title, defeating Cristian Garin and Lorenzo Sonego in straight sets to make the quarter-finals.

The Aussie now has a decent draw to reach the semi-finals when he comes up against Paul – a player he has defeated in their two previous meetings this season.

However, they have both been tight encounters, with De Minaur prevailing 7-6 6-4 on the hardcourts of Indian Wells and 7-5 6-4 on the clay of Rome. Can he complete the set on grass today?

There’s nothing to suggest he can’t. De Minaur is certainly a much better grass courter than clay player and he managed to defeat Paul on the dirt, so this surface should give him an advantage.

But it promises to be another close affair. Paul is always a dangerous prospect with his big groundstrokes and he will be confident after taking out Jannik Sinner in the previous round.

Which is why we’re going for some value and backing De Minaur to win with over 22.5 games at $3.10 with bet365.

Paul is no stranger to long matches, with six of his last eight matches producing over 22.5 games, while De Minaur is also known for being involved in big battles.

It should be a great contest, but De Minaur has the match-up advantage, won this tournament last year and Paul doesn’t have a good record in quarter-finals, losing four of five such matches this season. Back the Aussie home in Eastbourne to reach the semi-finals.
