Bet Of The Day May 26

The NRL Round 12 match between the Melbourne Storm and Manly Sea Eagles features as Bettingpro.com.au’s best bet for Thursday May 26.

Bet Of The Day May 26 – read on below for our reasoning behind today’s best bet.

Key Points 👇

  • Storm have won the last five meetings between the teams
  • Storm have won four of those games by 13+ margins
  • Storm’s last six wins this season have been by 13+ margins
  • Sea Eagles haven’t beaten a top eight team this season
  • Sea Eagles have lost four of their last five games
  • Five of Sea Eagles’ six defeats this season have been by 13+ margins

We’re off to the NRL for today’s best bet as the Melbourne Storm look to return to winning ways when they play host to a struggling Manly Sea Eagles side.

The Storm are coming off back-to-back defeats for the first time since 2019 and their heaviest margin of consecutive losses since all the way back in 2001.

You can bet your bottom dollar Craig Bellamy will be demanding a response from his side at home tonight and what better way to deliver than against old rivals Manly.

Melbourne have received some good and bad news ahead of this encounter – they welcome back key halfback Jahrome Hughes, who will help ease the pressure off Cameron Munster in attack, but also lose hooker Harry Grant to injury.

Grant’s a big loss, but the return of Hughes outweighs it considerably. Hughes was missing from the aforementioned two defeats against the Panthers and Cowboys and adds so much to this side.

Meanwhile, the Sea Eagles have lost four of their last five games, haven’t beaten a team inside the top eight this season and worst of all, have lost star man Tom Trbojevic to a season-ending shoulder injury.

The loss of Trbojevic absolutely crushes Manly’s premiership aspirations – if they were realistic in the first place – and now they will struggle to even make the top eight.

Now facing the Storm down in Melbourne is last thing they would have wanted.

Melbourne have won the last five meetings between the teams, with four of those coming by 13+ margins. Additionally, the Storm’s last six wins this season have all been by 13+ margins, so when you also factor in five of Manly’s six defeats this season have been by 13 points or more, a convincing Storm win appears on the cards here.
