The Super Rugby match between Australia franchise rivals the Rebels and Waratahs features Bettingpro.com.au's bet of the day for Friday, February 14.
Rebels vs Waratahs (7.15pm AEST)
Pressure has already mounted on these two Australian outfits, who are both without a win through the first two rounds.
By the end of Friday night’s clash, one of these sides will find themselves in a very deep 0-3 hole to crawl out of.
The Rebels followed up a first round loss to the Sunwolves by travelling to Canberra to be drubbed 39-26 by the Brumbies with a 78th minute try making things look slightly better than they were.
The Rebels gave up six tries, 11 clean breaks and 8 offloads while tackling at just 81% in that loss.
The Waratahs fared little better, losing at home to the Blues 32-12. Their defence too was plagued with poor tackling at 82%, leaking five tries.
The two sides sit 13th and 15th on the ladder, but while the Waratahs sit at the bottom, they’ve faced sterner competition in taking on two fellow Australian sides.
That may see them a little more battle hardened. They’ve also had a less arduous schedule so far in terms of travel and are the value bet.
