Bet Of The Day November 16 – read on below for our reasoning behind todayโ€™s best bet.

CURRENT BET OF THE DAY STREAK: 4

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic holds a perfect 5-0 record over Diego Schwartzman in their head-to-head and weโ€™re confident the Serbian will extend that to six at the ATP Finals in London on Monday – but not before Schwartzman puts up a solid fight.

Apart from a blowout in their opening meeting back in 2014, Schwartzman has always made his matches with Djokovic somewhat competitive. The Argentine stretched Djokovic to five sets at thee 2017 French Open, took a set off hime at Rome in 2019 and took eight games in Rome earlier this season. Throw in a 3-6 4-6 4-6 defeat at the 2020 Australian Open and Schwartzman has never failed to win less than three games in a set.

Considering itโ€™s the first match for both players at the season-ending championships, we can expect that both players will take a period to work their way into the match. Djokovic has only played three matches since the French Open final and is coming off a 6-2 6-1 loss to Lorenzo Sonego in his last outing. Schwartzman has been outstanding in recent months, reaching the Rome Masters final, French Open semi-finals, Cologne final and Paris Masters quarter-finals.

Once again, I think Schwartzman is certainly playing well enough to make this one competitive. His return is among the best in the world and he will get a lot of balls back. Djokovic will outlast him in the end, like heโ€™s done in their five previous encounters, but Schwartzman is good value to get enough games to give the World No. 1 a solid workout here.

KEY POINTS

  • Djokovic has won all five of their previous encounters
  • Over 19.5 Games has hit in their last two best-of-three matches
  • Schwartzman has won at least three games in a set in their last 11 sets
  • Schwartzman has won 14 of his last 18 matches
