Bet Of The Day July 8

Andrew Hendrie:
Bet Of The Day July 8

The NRL Round 17 match between Manly Sea Eagles and Canberra Raiders features as’s best bet for Thursday July 8.

Bet Of The Day July 8 – read on below for our reasoning behind today’s best bet.

  • Three of our last five Bets Of The Day have landed

July 1: Storm to beat Roosters 13+ at $2.05 ✅
July 2: Panthers vs Eels under 45.5 points at $1.91 ✅
July 4: Tigers +20.5 vs Rabbitohs at $1.90 ✅
July 5: Elena Rybakina to beat Aryna Sabalenka at $2.45 ❌ (Sabalenka won 6-3 4-6 6-3)
July 7: England to win to nil vs Denmark at $2.60 ❌ (England won 2-1)

We’re off to the NRL for today’s best bet as the Manly Sea Eagles play host to a struggling Canberra Raiders side at 4 Pines Park.

Normally, this would be a big win for Manly, but the home side will be without Tom Trbojevic and Daly Cherry-Evans, with the pair on Origin duty for NSW.

Trbojevic and Cherry-Evans are responsible for the bulk of Manly’s tries – and against most other sides, I’d say the Sea Eagles would be in trouble without them.

However, not this Raiders team – the Green Machine are in absolutely horrendous form and come into this encounter having lost nine of their last 11 games, including a 44-6 home loss to the Titans last week.

Canberra also don’t have good memories of 4 Pines Park, failing to win at the venue since 2016 and losing seven of the last eight meetings between the sides.

In saying that, the Raiders have been able to keep this match-up close in recent times, with six of the last seven being decided by eight points or less.

With Tommy Turbo and Cherry-Evans out, we can see this game following that trend.

We also expect to see a relatively low-scoring game with Manly’s two chief attacking weapons unavailable.

Manly and Canberra have history in such games, with the last seven meetings producing under 48.5 points.

The Sea Eagles will have to do it without their two big stars, but this Raiders side shouldn’t be troubling them at home. Manly to prevail in a low-scoring affair.
