Our seven-day winning streak for our #BOTD came to an end yesterday as the Netherlands only prevailed 2-0 over Austria (we needed over 2.5 goals), but we’re confident we can bounce back with today’s best between the Panthers and Roosters in the NRL.
Penrith’s sensational 12-match winning streak to start the season was snapped over the last fortnight due to the side missing their Origin stars, but they will have their best team back on deck for tonight’s showdown with a depleted Roosters outfit.
The likes of Nathan Cleary, Jarome Luai, Isaah Yeo, Kurt Capewell, Liam Martin and Brian To’o all return for the Panthers tonight, so we can expect them to return to their pre-Origin form.
We’ll be taking the Panthers 13+ and under 46.5 points for some solid value.
Penrith have been dominant at home in recent times – they’ve won their last 15 straight matches at BlueBet Stadium, the last four of which have come by 13+ margins.
Additionally, the Panthers have been rock solid in defence and were conceding a measly eight points per game before Origin. That will help with keeping the total points below 46.5.
Furthermore, five of the last six meetings between the Panthers and Roosters have seen under 46.5 points. They’ve played out some low-scoring affairs in recent encounters and we expect that pattern to continue here.
The Roosters are also undermanned for this showdown, with gun halfback Sam Walker ruled out with injury.
All signs point to Penrith returning to the winners circle in relatively comfortable fashion tonight and they should be able to keep the Roosters to minimal points in the process.
- Panthers have won 15 straight matches at home
- Panthers have won their last four home games by 13+ margins
- Panthers have won their last three home games vs Roosters
- Five of the last six meetings between the teams have produced under 46.5 points
- Panthers were conceding just eight points per game before Origin
- Ten of the Panthers’ 14 matches this season have seen under 46.5 points
