We look to land our sixth straight #BOTD tonight when an in-form Perth Glory outfit play host to Macarthur FC in the A-League.

After looking down and out a month ago, Perth have hit top form out of nowhere and all of a sudden are challenging for a finals spot.

Indeed, Perth come into this encounter on the back of four consecutive victories, with all four coming at home.

Glory have defeated Melbourne Victory, Western United, Western Sydney Wanderers and Adelaide United on their own turf over the last few weeks, scoring 12 goals in the process.

When the likes of Andy Keogh, Bruno Fornaroli, Diego Castro and Chris Ikonomidis are in this sort of form, Perth are genuine premiership contenders and almost unstoppable at home.

Meanwhile, Macarthur have only played one game since May 6 and could be coming into this clash against one of the competition’s hottest sides slightly underdone.

Macarthur have been inconsistent all season and last defeated a team currently in the top six back on February 28.

Having gone winless in their last five fixtures against current top six teams suggests Macarthur don’t have what it takes when they come up against the very best – and Perth are certainly in that conversation in their current form.

Glory are the team in red-hot form and playing at home, they are well-placed to make it five wins on the bounce.

Key Points

  • Perth have won their last four matches
  • All of those wins have come at home
  • Perth have scored 12 goals in that period
  • Macarthur have only won two of their last seven games
  • Those two wins came against second-last Melbourne Victory
  • Macarthur haven’t beaten a current top six team since February
