Bet Of The Day May 6

Andrew Hendrie:
Bet Of The Day May 6

The NRL Round 9 match between South Sydney Rabbitohs and Melbourne Storm features as Bettingpro.com.au’s best bet for Thursday May 6.

Bet Of The Day May 6 – read on below for our reasoning behind today’s best bet.

  • Five of our last seven Bets Of The Day have landed

April 26: Western United to beat Newcastle Jets at $2.25 ✅
April 28: PSG to beat Man City at $3.20 ❌
April 29: Man United to beat Roma & both teams to score at $3.25 ✅
April 30: Melbourne Storm to beat Cronulla Sharks & over 43.5 points at $2.00 ✅
May 2: Rangers to beat Celtic at $2.55 ✅
May 3: Mainz to beat Hertha Berlin at $2.40 ❌
May 5: Melbourne City to beat Perth Glory & both teams to score at $3.10 ✅

With five wins from our last seven #BOTDs (all $2.00 or more), we look to extend our streak with tonight’s NRL showdown between the Rabbitohs and Storm at Stadium Australia.

Melbourne have been supremely dominant over South Sydney throughout their history and have only lost two of the last 19 meetings between the teams – including prevailing 26-18 back in Round 1 earlier this season.

With Adam Reynolds sidelined, the Storm are deserved clear favourites once again for this clash, but we can find some more value in the H2H/Total Points double.

I am a little cautious due to the wet weather in Sydney, but both of these sides are among the most lethal attacking sides in the competition and can pile on the points.

Melbourne have won their last five matches and scored 40+ points in four of those victories, while the Rabbitohs have posted 34 points or more in four of their last five wins.

If both teams can bring that point-scoring form to the table tonight, then covering the 38.5 line seems a formality.

Additionally, six of the last seven matches between the Storm and Rabbitohs have gone over the total points line.

Reynolds and Latrell Mitchell may be sidelined, but the Bunnies still have plenty of attacking firepower in the likes of Cody Walker, Alex Johnston, Dane Gagai and a resurgent Benji Marshall.

As mentioned, Melbourne are clear favourites and should be winning this, but we can get enhanced value with backing them and over 38.5 points – let’s just hope the conditions don’t get in the way of some nice free-flowing football!
