Week Two of the AFL JLT Community Series gets underway on Thursday March 7 when Geelong play host to Essendon at GMHBA Stadium.

Here is our preview of all the action.

GEELONG CATS v ESSENDON
Thursday 7 March, 7.10pm at GMHBA Stadium

Geelong ventured west last weekend and went down to the premiers West Coast. They should appreciate being back at their home deck and face an Essendon side that lost to Carlton by nine points. Both sides are predicted to be contenders this year and little will separate them in this hitout.

GWS GIANTS v ADELAIDE CROWS
Friday 8 March, 7.10pm at UNSW Canberra Oval

Both sides took on their respective local rivals last weekend and came away with the points. GWS held off Sydney by 22, while Adelaide knocked over Port Adelaide by 17. The Crows looked sharp in their win and a number of their injured players from last season found plenty of the footy. The 2017 runners-up can go on with it.

PORT ADELAIDE v NORTH MELBOURNE
Saturday 9 March, 1.10pm at Alberton

Like the Power, North Melbourne also went down in Week One, suffering a 25 point defeat at the hands of St Kilda. While it is only a JLT fixture, this shapes as an important one for the two sides that found themselves just outside of the eight at the end of last season. Both sides had some woes up forward last weekend but the Power did finish off on a bright note and head in with momentum.

MELBOURNE v BRISBANE LIONS
Saturday 9 March, 4.10pm at Casey Fields

Melbourne fought out an excellent match against Richmond last week, eventually going down by 12 points, while Brisbane took out an undermanned Hawthorn outfit by 42. The Lions get to test themselves against an A-grade midfield and while they enjoy the services of Lachie Neale, they may just fall short here.

HAWTHORN v RICHMOND
Saturday 9 March, 7.10pm at UTAS Stadium

The Hawks welcome back a number of their key players this weekend and will be looking to improve on their output after managing just eight goals in the loss to the Lions. They face one of their conquerors from last year's finals series, Richmond, at UTAS Stadium in Launceston. One of the talking points int he lead up to this game will be Dustin Martin's fitness after the star on baller jarred his knee last weekend. With or without Dusty, the Tigers should be a bit too sharp for the brown and gold.

SYDNEY SWANS v GOLD COAST SUNS
Sunday 10 March, 1.10pm at Lismore

Both sides went without a win last weekend. The Swans went down to GWS, while Gold Coast just missed out against the Bulldogs, going down by five points. There are some concerns about the Swans this season, particularly around their depth but having said that they should have way too much experience for a rebuilding Suns outfit.

WESTERN BULLDOGS v ST KILDA
Sunday 10 March, 4.10pm at Mars Stadium

The winner of this can take in plenty of momentum into Round One after both triumphed in their hitouts last weekend. The Saints were the surprise packets last weekend, while it still remains hard to get a gauge on where the Bulldogs are at.

FREMANTLE v WEST COAST EAGLES
Sunday 10 March, 7.10pm at Mandurah

The local rivals had mixed fortunes last weekend. Dockers fans should be happy with how their midfield performed against Collingwood but will be hoping for more from their big name recruits in Jesse Hogan and Rory Lobb. If those two fire then the Dockers can spring a surprise in what should be a close one in W.A.

COLLINGWOOD v CARLTON
Monday 11 March, 2.10pm at Morwell

There is plenty of cause for optimism for fans of both sides after their respective wins last weekend. The Magpies will be full of hunger after missing out in agonising fashion last year and will be looking to get their season off to a flyer, while Carlton's kids, spearheaded by the No. 1 draft pick, Sam Walsh, have been the talking point. But we can expect the Magpies to get the job done here.
