Round 2 of the AFLW gets underway on Friday February 8 when GWS play host to North Melbourne and there are five games in store for the weekend.

Here is our preview of the action.

GWS GIANTS v NORTH MELBOURNE - Friday 8 February, 7.15pm at Dummoyne Oval

This shapes as one of the better games of the round with flag fancies North travelling up to Sydney to take on the Giants. The Kangaroos took out Carlton by 36 points last weekend and their big names including Emma Kearney, Emma King and Mo Hope were in the thick of it. GWS went down in narrow fashion to last year's runner's up, Brisbane. But the improvers of the competition from 2018 can take it up to the newcomers at home.

COLLINGWOOD v MELBOURNE - Saturday 9 February, 4.45pm at Victoria Park

Both sides went down in thrillers last weekend. Collingwood dropped their opening clash to Geelong by a solitary point, while Melbourne were rolled by Fremantle to the tune of four points after surrendering a 14 point three-quarter time lead. With Daisy Pearce (pregnant) out of action, the Demons should still have just enough class to rebound here.

WESTERN BULLDOGS v GEELONG - Saturday 9 February, 7.15pm at Whitten Oval

Last year's premiers, the Western Bulldogs, were lucky to escape with a one point win against an inaccurate Adelaide in Round 1, while Geelong also won by that margin. The Dogs head into this as slight favourites and will need big games from Katie Brennan and Ellie Blackburn against the second of the competition's new sides.

CARLTON v ADELAIDE - Sunday February 10, 4.05pm at Ikon Park

It is only week two of the competition but Carlton almost have to win this to state in touch after last weeks disappointing result. Last year's wooden spooners will find it tough against a Crows outfit that will be hungry after their wasteful display last weekend. Look for Erin Phillips and Ebony Marinoff to get the Crows the result in this one.

FREMANTLE v BRISBANE - Sunday 10 February at Fremantle Oval

The final game of the weekend pits the Dockers up against the Lions and both sides impressed last week. Little splits the two in the head to head betting. Fremantle will look to play an aggressive brand of footy against the 2018 runners up and the home ground advantage might just be enough to get them over the line.
