North Melbourne and Port Adelaide meet in AFL Round 22 on Saturday August 17.

The Marvel Stadium clash gets underway at 7.25pm AEST and all the action can be seen on Channel 7 and Foxtel.

Match Preview

The two sides come off some contrasting performances in Round 21. North Melbourne registered just 1.8.14 in their 55 point loss to Geelong. That was their lowest ever score and the Kangaroos now sit in 13th position with eight wins.

Port Adelaide stormed back into the top eight with their 47 point victory over the Sydney Swans and another positive result will all but lock in a finals berth with their Round 23 clash against Fremantle to come.

After some inconsistent displays in different parts of the season, the Power are beginning to put it all together. They were dominant in winning the ball out of the middle in the win over Sydney with Robbie Gray and Ollie Wines finding plenty of it, while the rising star, Connor Rozee, continued his good form with three majors.

Ken Hinkley's side just need to take that form on the road. Their opponents, North, were winners the last time they played at Marvel Stadium, defeating Hawthorn but have lost four of their past five.

Ben Cunnington and Jack Ziebell continue to play good footy but the Roos will need more winners around the ground in order to bring their forwards into the contest.

Selection News

North Melbourne are likely to lose Scott Thompson to concussion. Robbie Tarrant will assume key defensive roles. Tom Campbell, Ben McKay and Nathan Hrovat will be considered for selection after playing solid games in the VFL last weekend.

Port Adelaide lost Zac Butters prior to the Sydney game and the youngster will be out to prove his fitness. Ryan Burton and Brad Ebert remain on the sidelines.

Match Odds

North Melbourne $1.90
Port Adelaide $1.90
