Port Adelaide take on the AFL's pacesetters, Geelong, in AFL Round 14 action.

The Saturday June 22 clash gets underway at 7.40pm AEST or 7.10pm local time and will be played at the Adelaide Oval. Channel 7 and Fox Sports will broadcast the game live.

Match Preview

Port Adelaide's season is at the crossroads after they suffered a 21 point defeat to Fremantle in Round 13. The Power were in that game until the latter parts of the last quarter but floundered late in the piece.

They now have a win-loss record of 6-6 and face a tough task in getting that back into the positive territory against a Geelong outfit that have lost just the one game in 2019.

The Cats sit in top position on the ladder, two games clear of their nearest rival. They enjoyed the bye in Round 13 and come into this with fresh legs. Prior to the break they thumped Richmond by 67 points.

The two sides appear to be evenly matched in the midfield. If anything, Port may have the advantage here. They average more contested possessions, clearances and centre clearances. Paddy Ryder and Travis Boak will look to combine for Port, while Tom Rockliff looms as a possible inclusion.

That trio will look to get on top of a Geelong outfit that boasts some big names, including Patrick Dangerfield, Tim Kelly and Mitch Duncan, who were all on fire in the recent win over Richmond.

However, the Cats have shown all year that they have the answers at either end of the ground. Their defensive unit has been tough to penetrate, while they have a host of goal kicking options in Tom Hawkins, Gary Ablett and Gary Rohan, who all sit in the top 15 of the competition for goals scored this season.

At the other end, the Power don't seem to have a huge focal point in their forward half with the first year player, Connor Rozee, leading their goal kicking total with just 12 majors for the year.

Selection News

Port Adelaide have no injury concerns stemming from the Free game. Tom Rockliff is expected to return, while Brad Ebert is a chance to come back in from a concussion issue.

Geelong aren't expected to make too many changes. Esava Ratugolea is expected to be available. Lachie Henderson is edging closer towards a return.

Match Odds

Port Adelaide $2.74
Geelong Cats $1.42

Geelong have won the past four between the two sides. Three of those have been played at the Adelaide Oval. Last season it was a 34 point win for the Cats withJoel Selwood and Patrick Dangerfield combining for 57 possessions. Robbie Gray was Port's best.

Geelong have an excellent record in Adelaide and defeated the Crows at the venue earlier this season by 24 points. They are five from seven in interstate games since the start of 2018. In the same time period, Adelaide have won 13 of their 20 games at the ground.
