  • The Bulldogs and the Kangaroos clash at Marvel Stadium in Round 10.
  • Here is our preview of the Saturday afternoon clash.

The Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne feature in one of five AFL games on Saturday May 25 and the Round 10 clash gets underway at 2.10pm AEST.

The Bulldogs head in as favourites for the Marvel Stadium fixture and all the action can be seen on Fox Sports.

Match Preview

The two sides are among those in the bottom half of the ladder. The Western Bulldogs are currently 12th with four wins from their nine games, while North Melbourne are 17th with just the two victories.

The Western Bulldogs were competitive in their match against Geelong last weekend before a last quarter blowout saw them go down by 42 points. On the same day, North Melbourne went down in a close one to Sydney by five points.

Despite the differences in their respective win-loss records, the two sides appear to be evenly matched. Both have found similar amounts of the footy this year. North Melbourne hold an edge in the ruck and Todd Goldstein should have an influence. But the Bulldogs are the better clearance side.

The battle in this part of the ground will be absorbing with Ben Cunnington and the former Dog, Shaun Higgins, going head to head with the likes of Marcus Bontempelli and Jack Macrae.

The outcome may just be decided by the side that takes their chances in front of goal. Both are among the competition's most inaccurate sides in front of the big sticks this year.

North Melbourne's Ben Brown is one player that has had the radar going well and has booted 22.11. He shapes as a focal point for the Kangaroos, while at the other end of the ground, the Dogs will need another big game from the impressive youngster, Aaron Naughton.

Selection News

Tim English has missed the past two weeks for the Bulldogs but is expected to return to take on Goldstein in the ruck. Matthew Suckling is in doubt with a calf injury. North Melbourne have no fresh injury concerns arising out of the Sydney game.

Match Odds

Western Bulldogs $1.49
North Melbourne $2.50

The two sides have featured in some thrillers in recent times. The Western Bulldogs claimed the Round 21 encounter between the two sides in 2018 by seven points, while North Melbourne won the Round 14 game by two points. In the two games in 2017 it was the Dogs by one and three. All of those were held at Marvel Stadium.

North Melbourne have two of five at the venue this year, while the Bulldogs are two from four. In the Round 21 game last year, Lachie Hunter, Caleb Daniel and Jack Macrae all had 40+ disposals. Todd Goldstein and Ben Cunnington were the best for the Kangaroos.

Prediction and Tips

This shapes as a close one. Either side under 15.5 points
