NBA 2018/19 Regular Season Win Totals - 3 best bets for the 2018/19 NBA win totals

  • NBA Regular season win totals
  • 3 best bets

With most major bookies releasing their NBA regular season win totals in early August, it has given our resident NBA expert plenty of time to crunch the numbers and come up with his three best bets for the upcoming season.

Can LeBron James carry another undermanned squad to 50-wins? Will the Knicks tank without Kristaps Porzingis? These are all questions that we will try and answer.

L.A. Lakers

This is sure to be a popular market with the ‘public’. LeBron James moving to the most historic franchise in basketball history has captured all headlines over the offseason. What was surprising amidst the whirlwind was, no other big free agents followed LeBron to Los Angeles. Paul George, the man who made it clear 12 months ago he was going to L.A. didn’t even give Magic Johnson an interview before resigning with the Thunder. The Lakers didn’t get Boogie Cousins and didn’t trade for Kawhi Leonard. The Lakers offseason signings were a motley crew of individuals, including Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, Michael Beasley and JaVale Mcgee. So can LeBron carry this team to 50 wins? He can, but will he?. LeBron knows for the first time in a decade that he cannot win the championship this season and for that reason, may keep things in third gear for the majority of the season.

L.A. Clippers

The L.A. Clippers won 42 games last season but have since lost star big man DeAndre Jordan to the Dallas Mavericks. With this being said, I’m confident the Clippers can hold the mark at around 40-43 wins. The Clippers have made good moves this offseason and could be a sneaky good team in a loaded Western Conference. The Clippers have a strong defensive core with Patrick Beverley, Avery Bradley and Luc Mbah a Moute. They have complimented sweet Lou Williams, Tobias Harris and Danilo Gallinari nicely. Marcin Gortat is a good pickup for the Clippers and I like their first-round draft pick Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The Clippers have a nice team and can push over 36.5 wins.

Miami Heat

The Miami Heat scrapped their way to 44 wins last season and I see no reason why they can’t repeat that effort, with or without Dwyane Wade. D.Wade is a free agent this offseason and has made it public that it is ‘Miami or nowhere’ for his basketball future. The Heat have a nice mix of young talent and experience, with the likes of Goran Dragic, Dion Waiters, Bam Adebayo, James Johnson and Hassan Whiteside all on the roster. The Heat have the advantage of playing horrible Eastern Conference teams such as the Magic, Hawks, Bulls, Nets and Knicks multiple times and should rack up the wins without being a talent-heavy team.
