NBL Grand Final Tips and Preview - Perth Wildcats v Melbourne United

  • Perth Wildcats take on Melbourne United in NBL Grand Final Series
  • Series tied 1-1 heading into Game 3

We are headed back to the RAC Arena in Perth for Game 3 of the NBL Grand Final Series.

The series is tied one-all with the home team taking both games so far. The Perth Wildcats were victorious 81-71 in Game 1 before Melbourne United dominated the visitors with a 92-74 win at Melbourne Arena.

Terrico White and Casper Ware scored 19 each in Game 1 for the Wildcats and United respectively.

In Game 2, it was a combined effort from United with all five starters scoring double digits. Ware scored 14 points despite struggling with 4-15 shooting from the field. Captain Chris Goulding also netted 14 points coming off the bench on 5-16 shooting. Bryce Cotton led the way for the Wildcats with 19 points on 7-17 shooting. Terrico White scored 17 and Nicholas Kay 10.

Looking ahead to Game 3, the Wildcats are going to be hard to stop after winning two regular season matches and Game 1 over United at home. History is also on their side with 31 of the last 34 matches in a Grand Final series being won by the home team.

The Wildcats have won by five points (twice) and 10 points in the three meetings between the two teams at the RAC Arena and they should be able to cover the 3.5 line set by bookmakers.

This game should be a lot closer than Game 2 and we can’t see the Wildcats blowing United away. The Perth crowd will get behind their team and that gives the Wildcats the edge. Our prediction is that they will win by seven points in a very competitive game.
