UFC Fight Night 147: Till v Masvidal will be held at the O2 Arena in London, England, on Sunday, March 17, at 4:00am AEDT.

The main card looks excellent for UFC Fight Night 147 with the United Kingdom expected to see some great fights that could go either way. Here are our predictions and best bets for the card.

Darren Till v Jorge Masvidal

The main event of the evening, or early morning for us Australian viewers, will be in the Welterweight division between Darren Till and Jorge Masvidal. Till enters the fight with a professional record of 17-1-1 and is the $1.37 favourite. Masvidal holds a record of 32-13-0 and is $3.11 to cause the upset.

Looking at the tale of the tape, Till holds a slight height advantage with a narrow 0.5 inch reach advantage. Till also has the home-crowd behind him with the Liverpool fighter expected to prove too good for his opponent – and we see it that way too.

Don’t underestimate Masvidal though, he should be resilient enough to go the distance. Recent fights suggest this fight will go to a decision with Till winning three of his last four UFC fights via decision. Following those four fights, Till suffered his first defeat at the hands of Tyron “The Chosen One” Woodley at UFC 228.

Masvidal has a two-match losing streak, both via decision, to Demian Maia at UFC 211 and Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson at UFC 217. Since stepping up to the UFC, Masvidal has only ever lost via a decision method and that looks the value play here with Till to come out on top.

Leon Edwards v Gunnar Nelson

Both Welterweight competitors boast impressive records with Leon Edwards 16-3-0 taking on Gunnar Nelson 17-3-1. Edwards will have a one-inch height and two-inch reach advantage over Nelson in this fight.

It is almost a coin-flip this fight with both Edwards and Nelson capable of ending the fight. Nelson, an Icelandic submission-specialist, is currently the underdog in the fight and that looks value as he comes off a win against Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira at UFC 231. Nelson proved too good for Oliveira in a bloody fight that saw Nelson apply a rear-naked choke submission that saw a quick tap-out from Oliveira.

Edwards has been on a winning streak with six-straight victories. His last loss came in 2015 via decision to Kamaru “The Nigerian Nightmare” Usman. That is no disgrace considering Usman recently defeated Tyron Woodley for the UFC Welterweight Championship in a one-sided domination.

Volkan Oezdemir v Dominick Reyes

Unbeaten Light Heavyweight Dominick Reyes holds a perfect 10 record and bookmakers believe it will be one-sided with Reyes $1.35 favourite. We don’t believe that case as he faces the 15-3-0 Volkan Oezdemir.

The Swiss fighter was 15-1 before competing for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship at UFC 220. Daniel Cormier was too much for Oezdemir to handle with DC winning by TKO in the second round. At his most recent fight, Oezdemir was beaten by submission against Anthony “Lionheart” Smith.

Both men hold victories over Ovince Saint Preux (OSP) and the underdog can’t be underrated here after two tough opponents. Of course, “The Devastator” could keep his unbeaten streak in tact but Oezdemir should be shorter than a $3.21 underdog in this fight.
