Flemington Jumpouts - Friday April 13

There were 14 Jumpouts from Flemington on Friday Morning. We have found four smart youngsters that it will pay to follow in the future. All four look like they have plenty of ability.

Jump Out 2: 800m - 48.11sec
This was a talented Jumpout, but it was the three-year-old Mike Moroney-trained METSON, that stole the show. He has strong formlines in his four career starts. He defeated Amortentia in a Maiden at Cranbourne on a Heavy 9 before running down the track behind Royal Symphony at Flemington. He then went to a Benchmark 70 at Bendigo and ran third behind Eptimum and Sam’s Image. Eptimum backed up that win with a three-length victory in the Group 3 Red Anchor Stakes at Moonee Valley before running in the Coolmore Stud Stakes behind Merchant Navy. Sam’s Image defeated the uber-talented Nature Strip at his next start. Metson was up against the likes of Flamberge, Soho Ruby and Silvera in this Jumpout. He strode to the front and when asked for an effort with 200m remaining, he showed a terrific turn of foot to accelerate away for a four-length victory.

Jump Out 3: 800m - 48.13sec
Two-year-old Filly EMBRACE ME looks the horse to follow from this Jumpout. The unraced Daughter of Group One winner Shamexpress looks to have at least some of her father's ability. Jockey Daniel Moor didn’t bustle her out of the gates, but she showed nice natural speed to lead. She came off the fence around the home turn and worked to the line under her own steam, finishing second behind the Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained Aristia who was given a hit or two with the whip. Aristia has had one career start for a third behind Lady Horseowner at Moonee Valley. Lady Horseowner went onto beat Oohood in the Blue Diamond Prelude. I was very impressed with the Jumpout of Embrace Me and she looks to have plenty of talent.

Jump Out 5: 800m - 47.98sec
It was hard to not be taken with the Tony McEvoy-trained ASSERTIVE APPROACH. The two-year-old Akeed Mofeed Colt showed nice natural early speed to lead on the rails. He took a slender lead into the home straight under a very tight hold before drawing away to win by two lengths. Considering he was under a strong hold for the entire 800m Jumpout, it’s hard to believe he broke 48 seconds. Tony McEvoy loves his two-year-olds and has been patient with Assertive Approach. His only Public trial was at Morphettville in December last year. He has stacks of talent and is definitely one for the blackbook.

Jump Out 7: 800m - 48.23sec
Jumpout number seven was one to watch. The two-year-old Pierro Colt SIKORSKY looks extremely talented. Lindsay Park Racing brought Sikorsky for $500,000 and David Hayes is a co-owner with Coolmore and Gary Lechte. The Pierro Colt had a Jumpout back in December and Hayes told Grace Ramage from Racing.com “"He's the biggest stake that I've had in a horse so I was really happy to see him trial like that today. He took my eye from day one.” Hayes also drew comparisons to Tulip. The Stable was aiming at a Blue Diamond campaign, but that didn’t eventuate. He should be well found in the market wherever he goes on debut but he looks like a Stakes horse in the making.

Jumpout 2: METSON
Jumpout 3: EMBRACE ME
Jumpout 7: SIKORSKY
