Golden Rose Stakes Final Field and Barrier Draw - classy field of 8 announced

Jockey Joshua Parr rides Bivouac to victory in the Run To The Rose (PA Images)

Saturday's Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens may only have eight runners but it is an elite crop of three-year-old colts and geldings.

Recent rivals Bivouac and Exceedance go head to head again having finished 2nd and 1st respectively in the San Domenico Stakes (1100m) on a Heavy Rosehill surface before Bivouac turned the tables and won the Run To the Rose (1200m) on a dry surface at Rosehill while Exceedance finished in 3rd place.

Chris Waller’s Yes Yes Yes split that pair in his first run this preparation, and he now meets them half a kilogram better at the weights.

Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott have the unbeaten Yao Dash and Rosebud (1100m) winner Dawn Passage lining up, and while Dawn Passage will need to improve on his 7.8-length 5th placing behind Bivouac, the form around Yao Dash looks strong having defeated subsequent Tea Rose (1400m) winner Funstar.

Kubrick (4th) and Prince Fawaz (6th) also come through the Run To the Rose, while Castelvecchio will need to lift on his first-up effort in the Dulcify Stakes (1500m).
