Canterbury Bulldogs will bid for a third straight when they visit Brisbane Broncos in the opening game of NRL Round 18 at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday night.

Broncos v Bulldogs kicks off at 7.55pm AEST at Suncorp Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and Channel 9 in Australia.

Prediction

Match Preview

The Bulldogs are in the midst of an upturn in fortunes having won their last two games and chase a hat-trick of victories in the opening game of the round.

Victories over the Cronulla Sharks prior to the bye and last week against the Newcastle Knights have hauled the Bulldogs off the bottom rung of the ladder.

But they face a tough ask in the bid for the hat-trick of wins as they head north to face the Broncos.

Brisbane came from behind to set up a Golden Point showdown with the New Zealand Warriors last week, but neither side could claim the victory and had to settle for the first draw of the season.

That leaves the Broncos sitting just three points clear of the second-from-bottom Bulldogs, and the hosts will want to bounce back from that share of the points.

Brisbane are also just three points from the top eight spots and a win over Canterbury will provide a shot in the arm to their chances of making the finals.

Match Odds

Brisbane Broncos - $1.38
Canterbury Bulldogs - $3.00
