Prediction

Match Preview

Canberra Raiders will look to cement their place in NRL's top four and make the most of home advantage when Cronulla Sharks visit the nation’s capital on Thursday night.

Both teams head into this encounter on the back of last-start victories, with Cronulla beating Parramatta Eels 42-22 at home in a high-scoring affair and the Raiders having taken care of Wests Tigers with a 28-0 shutout.

That win moved the Raiders into the top four on the ladder with an 8-5 record for the season, one better than the 7-5 Sharks who have a game in hand having enjoyed the bye in Round 12.

The sixth-placed Sharks have won their last two and head to Canberra in positive spirits for a game that looks an intriguing contest.

Cronulla won both meetings last season - a 24-16 win in Round 10 in Canberra and a 28-24 victory at home in Round 19. It is now wins in four of the last five head to heads for the Sharks, but they go in as underdogs with the Raiders looking good value to end that run on home turf.

Match Odds

Canberra Raiders - $1.80
Cronulla Sharks - $2.00
