Two top four battles highlight NRL Round 21 action this weekend as Canberra Raiders take on Sydney Roosters and South Sydney Rabbitohs face Melbourne Storm.

Both games will be staged on Sunday, with the Raiders and Roosters squaring off first in the nation’s capital. Canberra have been on a major roll over the last month or so and are coming off a big 46-12 win over the Warriors last week, while the Roosters also put a massive score on their opponents last week, crushing the Titans 58-6.

Meanwhile, the Rabbitohs have slipped to fourth courtesy of their loss to Cronulla last week, and life doesn’t get any easier for Wayne Bennett’s troops as they meet competition leaders Melbourne at Central Coast Stadium, with the Storm easing past Brisbane 40-4 last week.

Round 21 kicks off on Thursday night in an all-Queensland derby as the Broncos and Cowboys collide in Townsville. Brisbane dropped out of the eight after their heavy loss to Melbourne, while the Cowboys are four points behind and must win this clash to keep their finals chances alive.

New Zealand Warriors have the the challenge of stopping the on-fire Manly Sea Eagles as the two sides clash in the first game on Friday in Auckland. Manly continue to push towards the top four after cruising past Newcastle on the weekend, while the Warriors were demolished by Canberra and are now three points adrift of the top eight.

Penrith Panthers and Cronulla Sharks then clash in a match with top eight implications as both sides chase a finals spot. Penrith suffered a big blow as they went down to the Bulldogs, while the Sharks got back on track in Round 20 with a win over the Rabbitohs.

Super Saturday starts at Jubilee Stadium as the St George Illawarra Dragons and Gold Coast Titans do battle. Both sides are experiencing nightmare seasons, but the Dragons performed better last week and should be able to take care of the bottom-placed Titans in this one.

Newcastle Knights are also in horrendous form at the moment, but they can turn things around when they face Parramatta Eels on Saturday at Bankwest. It won’t be an easy feat however, with the Eels cementing sixth spot following their win over the Dragons on Sunday.

Buoyed by their shock win over the Panthers last week, Canterbury Bulldogs will look to do the double over Wests Tigers, who moved into the top eight last week after taking out North Queensland.
