Wales and Australia meet at the Principality Stadium

Australia begin their end of year European tour when facing Wales in Cardiff on Saturday with the Wallabies bidding to make it 14 straight wins against the Welsh.

In what is the first of a three-game tour that also features games against Italy and England, the Wallabies face Wales at Pricipality Stadium in Cardiff.

Match Preview

You have to go back a decade to 2008 for the last time Australia lost to Wales and Michael Cheika's side will be bidding to make it 14 in a row when the sides meet in Cardiff in the first game of the Wallabies' European tour.

Despite the recent record, Wales have opened up as favourites to end the losing run against Australia as the two sides continue preparations for next year's 2019 Rugby World Cup.

The two nations have been drawn in Pool D together along with Uruguay, Fiji and Georgia and will get an early glimpse of what to expect when they clash at the Principality Stadium.

Wales are unbeaten in their last six games having beaten Scotland last weekend to add to wins over Argentina (twice), South Africa, Italy and France, and Warren Gatland's side are nine wins from 12 games since going down to Australia 12 months ago.

Since winning 29-21 in Cardiff last year, things have been much more turbulent for the Wallabies. They lost to England and Scotland, then went down 2-1 in a three-match series at home to Ireland.

They then lost twice to the All Blacks in the Rugby Championship, shared a win and defeat each with Argentina and South Africa and went down again to New Zealand in the final Bledisloe Cup game.

Cheika's side need to find some inspiration from somewhere, but this is Wales' perfect chance to end that losing run.
