  • France and Croatia clash in the World Cup Final
  • Three bets to be backing with Sportsbet
Frances forward Kylian Mbappe can perform on the biggest stage.

France and Croatia will battle it out in the 2018 World Cup Final at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on Sunday (Monday AEST) for the right to be crowned champions.

The World Cup final is always a historic event and many Australians will be setting the alarms early on Monday morning to tune in. We give our three best bets to make a profit for France v Croatia.

First Goalscorer

At just 19-years-old, Kylian Mbappe is stepping up on the biggest stage in World football. Mbappe has scored three goals in the 2018 World Cup, including an electrifying double in the second half against Argentina in the round of 16. France found themselves in a 2-2 deadlock in the 63rd minute, only five minutes later Mbappe had scored two goals and the French had a commanding 4-2 lead. The youngster looks destined for the big stage and it wouldn’t surprise in the slightest if he scored the first goal in the 2018 World Cup Final.

Correct Score

France has kept a clean sheet in four of their six matches up to this point. Argentina’s Angel Di Maria, Gabriel Mercado and Sergio Aguero all found the net against the French, however, it wasn’t enough, with France scoring a 4-3 victory. Australia was the only other team to score against the French, thanks to a penalty from Mile Jedinak. Both teams have scored in a World Cup Final only once since 1990, with a 1-0 scoreline the result in the last two World Cup Finals. France can jump out of the blocks and score early, locking the game down in the second half.

Time of team 1st goal

Croatia started very slowly against England and it almost cost them dearly. Kieran Trippier scored in only the 5th minute for the Three Lions as Croatia never really looked likely in the first half. A repeat of that performance will see France get on the scoreboard in the first 45 minutes, as they have done on three occasions at this World Cup. Croatia has allowed at least one goal in their last four matches and has allowed a goal in the first half in their last three matches.
