Perth Glory face Brisbane Roar on Saturday

Perth Glory look to maintain their seven-point lead at the top of the table when they take on Brisbane Roar as A-League Round 19 action gets underway this upcoming weekend.

Glory have lost just one game for the entire season and further enhanced their premiership credentials with a brilliant 2-1 away win over second-placed Melbourne Victory on Sunday, racing away to a seven-point lead at the top of the ladder as a result. They will be looking to keep that gap when they host Brisbane on Saturday night at nib Stadium, with the Roar buzzing after their shock win over Sydney FC on Friday.

Round 19 action kicks off across the ditch as Wellington Phoenix entertain Melbourne Victory on Friday night. Wellington were held to a 1-1 draw last week by Newcastle but managed to hold on to their own eight-point gap over the Jets in sixth, while Victory will be searching for an immediate bounce back after their loss to Perth.

Newcastle Jets are then tasked with a must-win clash against Melbourne City in the second game on Friday night at McDonald Jones Stadium. Eight points behind Phoenix and nine behind City, the Jets can’t afford to lose this one, while City will be aiming for a return to the winners circle after drawing 1-1 with Adelaide last week.

Adelaide United look to cement their top four status when they square off against Western Sydney Wanderers in the first game on Saturday at Coopers Stadium. Adelaide currently have a two-point lead over City in fourth after last week’s draw, while the Wanderers secured just their third win of the season last week after beating the Mariners.

Sydney FC will be looking to bounce back from their shock defeat to Brisbane last week when they face the bottom-placed Central Coast Mariners in the last match on Sunday. Sydney remain in third after squandering a 1-0 lead over Brisbane, while the Mariners are anchored to the bottom of the ladder after their loss to the Wanderers.
