Daegu FC v Melbourne Victory AFC Champions League Tips, Predictions and Preview - Daegu set for comfortable win

Gary Emmerson 7 May 2019

Melbourne Victory may have already been eliminated from AFC Champions League Group F, but they can dent the hopes of Deagu FC when the sides meet at Forest Arena on Wednesday.

Daegu FC v Melbourne Victory kicks off at 8.00pm AEST at Forest Arena. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports in Australia.

Match Preview

Just one point from the opening four games meant Melbourne Victory exited the AFC Champions League with two games remaining.

Things got off to the worst possible start when losing 3-1 at home to tournament newcomers Daegu in Matchday 1 and a 1-1 draw at home to Guangzhou Evergrande in the most recent game has been the only points collected.

Daegu won their opening two games with the victory in Melbourne followed by 3-1 home win over Guangzhou Evergrande, but it has been back-to-back defeats since.

Losses in both games against Sanfrecce Hiroshima dropped the K-League side to third spot in Group F and a positive result will be needed against Melbourne Victory if they are to boost chances of making the Round of 16.

Daegu have recorded wins over Gangwon and Sangju Saints in the K-League since last being in Continental action, both of those coming without conceding.

With Melbourne Victory having one eye on Sunday's A-League semi-final showdown with rivals Sydney FC, this game should be a comfortable three points for Daegu.
