  • Sydney FC outsiders ahead of final

Melbourne City are favourites to win their first-ever trophy ahead of the FFA Cup Final against Sydney FC on November 3.

Melbourne City and Sydney FC were easily the two most popular teams from the day FFA Cup markets opened with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au and they will go head-to-head in the final.

Melbourne City are the $1.57 favourites to win the decider, but have come in from their opening price of $5.50, where they were pre-tournament second favourites behind Adelaide United ($4.50).

Sydney FC are $2.20 outsiders in the FFA Cup final, but have firmed from their original price of $6.00.

Between the two sides, they account for 50% of all bets in the Outright Winner market, however, there are three times as many bets on City compared to Sydney FC.

“Ever since we opened the FFA Cup winner market, only two teams have been seriously backed and now they find themselves in the decider. The punters have outsmarted us on this occasion, there’s no doubt about that,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.

In the match betting, Melbourne City are $2.10 to win the game while Sydney FC are $3.00 to come out on top in 90 minutes. The draw is priced at $3.40.
